Who are you at the agency and what do you do?
At thesign.digital I am a motion designer. Under this broad concept there are many artistic treatments. From setting in motion static graphics and illustrations, through the interweaving of content, to directing and working with sound. And to put it more in human language: the effects of my work can be seen in the form of TV spots, popular in recent times explainer videos (i.e. videos explaining the operation or functions of a given product) or traditional promotional videos of brands.
Why do you do what you do?
1 picture can replace 1000 words — you know the saying, right? :laughs: So now imagine how many such 1 picture can set in motion!
So I translate ideas and emotions into the language of movement. In order to — paradoxically — inspire viewers to... stop. To reflection. And then to action. Because it is the action taken under the influence of the stories that I tell with animations that can change the perspective of the perception of the world.
What motivates you?
What motivates and drives me to work is the kaleidoscope of projects and emotions that are behind each of them. Peace of mind. Silence. Depth. And then the dynamics. Excitement. A bit of drama... and slack again. This trip never gets boring!
I also love the story aspect of the animation and the dialogue that is created between the characters conveying emotions in the video and the viewer. The changes that occur in people under the influence of these stories are both exciting and rewarding at the same time. But it is they who keep the motor that drives me in constant motion.
What's your story?
Surely you know many animation freaks: Disney movies, Hannah Barber, Cartoon Network, or even Manga. Since I was a child, I was one of them. And even if I didn't freak out about them (I didn't flaunt my favorite characters' pins or dye my hair blue), I was always impressed by the craftsmanship. And the amount of work that someone had to put into each line — and then into setting it in motion.
So I immersed myself in various animation programs on my own since I was a child — after classes and after nights. And so it has remained for me to this day! In the meantime, I had a brief adventure with drilling engineering — but (thankfully) the passion won. Once you feel how something drives you, raises your adrenaline and makes you live—why change that?
I couldn't be happier doing anything else.
What are you passionate about?
Apart from animation? I am a man — a curiosity! Laughter: There is not a day that I do not tell my wife before bed one fun fact about the world, science and nature. Fortunately, it is not every day that such great discoveries happen, because I could not fall asleep without exploring the subject to the bottom! Besides, I love football — and watching, and playing. It's one of the few things that can take me away from my job as a designer for good (and for health).
You and your work in 3 words are...
Maximum attention to detail. Optimistic. Head in the clouds.
